iTunes ROCKS!

Ok, I finally broke down and decided to start buying my music from iTunes. I am really impressed. The songs are 99 cents a piece or you can buy whole albums for $10-13 or so. The sound quality of these .m4p files is amazing! I can't believe my ears. The amount of songs in their catalog is huge! Their website states: "Select from more than one million tracks from all four major and more than 600 leading independent labels." Not too shabby! The only thing I don't like is the proprietary .m4p format. I'm all for copy protection and anti-piracy in music files, but it just really sucks that I can't convert my .m4p files to an mp3 to play in my home DVD player or in my car's MP3/CD player (if I had one). With mp3's you can fit up to 10 hours of music on one CD. You could fit up to 10 hours of .m4p files on one CD also, but no CD or DVD player will play it. I guess I'll have to buy a proprietary iPod and all the proprietary accesories to play music files in my home stereo or in my car. If I purchase music for my own personal use I should be allowed to play it anyhow and anywhere I freakin want to. I guess I will just have to live with burning my .m4p files to a regular old 80 minute audio CD which I can play in any one of my CD players, but I just think that SUCKS!

I definitely think you should get that iPod, Mike. You'll love it. :)
